Dear Forender Team!

I need to see if you can make me something. It's a Melee weapon(Mostly).

It's a chain sword. Meaning a wide thick blade with a channel where the blade edge would be. The outter edges, the ones facing out would need to be beveled and have an edge. Kinda like a single edge razor. Running inside the channel is the actual chain with teeth than run an entire loop around the channel. It would be ok if the blade was a uniform width with a rounded nose. Sorta like a rather standard chain saw, But if it was possible to have the base say, 6, or 4 inches wide tapering down to a 2 inch round nose tip.

At where the crossguard would be, well would be the cross guard but where the rain guard meets cross guard and hilt is where the (Motor/magic)
and drive system are. They would need to look rather stout as they drive the chains. (In my AD&d world the character's sword has counter rotating chains, for balance but i don't know if that would translate well in a 3d model.)

Your HI-Tech longblade 5 is about as close to the overall shape of the thing except it's tip which would be way more round.

The cross guard is really just a stout bar to stop the sword going completely thru it's target. Mind you a chainsword totally thru a victim is a dramatic visage but the truth is you end up with a several hundred pound meat shield that really sucks up your encumbrance. So the cross most times prevents that.

The hilt is clearly a very beefy thing as it has to fit a thick forked tang and be sound enough to withstand the vibration. The button for this thing can either be a large bar-like thing that runs the length of the hilt. Or just under the hilt wrapping is a set of sensors. Like a potentiometer like that use to test a sharks bite on a rod. The idea is as the weapon would be just about impossible to carry let alone use the idea of using it in combat while running would be harder still. So the user would need to have a particular grip on the hilt and hard enough that will start the chin and still be swingable. (Basically my character needed to roll his bend bars to start it and not roll under 10% of it to keep it running when he would swing.)

Now i know you get allot of these requests all the time and this one is a little more complex than a normal sword. But i hope you might give this one a little thought and maybe do. I know would snap it up in a second.

More kinda like this.

www.jerry.withbits.com/games_sudeki.php

But more sword looking. Kind take your Hitech longblade 5 taper it's point like the one in the link and add the cutting chain where the blade edge would be.

or think normal chainsaw with a tapered nose and hilt instead of the normal handle and grip.

The 40K chain sword in comparison to the one I need is one that looks safe. The one I'm thinking should look like if it doesn't kill it's owner he will use it to kill everything..right now. The 40K one would be considered to be an over-sized electric carving knife for those BIG turkeys.

Mostly like this sad attack on your fine sword. Hope you don't mind
